Get up and rock 2015

After the short time-off in the last few weeks, we hope that you are now ready and fully motivated to join our ongoing and new projects in the upcoming year.

We start with the highlight of this semester’s kolloquium: a talk by Patrick Meier (Director of Social Innovation at Quatar Computing Research Insitute). Patrick is one of the most expertised actor in the global diastermapping community, co-founder of the StandbyTaskForce and the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. We are glad to get to know everything we ever wanted to know about “Next Generation Humanitarian Technologies”, Social Media, “Crisis Mapping & Early Warning” and far more. We meet on 11th February as usual in the Großer Hörsaal, Berliner Straße 48 at 4pm. Save the date!

Mid february (20-21th) we are invited to the OpenDataDay in Mannheim. Together with you we want to participate in a hacktogether and compete for the price of the best project, endowed with 1700€. This is a perfect opportunity to show your skills and realize own ideas related to OSM and disastermapping (for more information see: https://www.hackerleague.org/hackathons/open-data-day-2015-mannheim). Are you interested? Contact us! 🙂 (disastermappers@posteo.de)

And of course there will be more events, talks and workshops in the next months. More information as usual here on our blog.

One map – one love!
